From bdeanders at fbx.com Mon Jan 26 13:06:14 2009 From: bdeanders at fbx.com (Bob & Deb Anders) Date: Mon Jan 26 13:06:20 2009 Subject: AmesMUG: Having some issues with my Mac Message-ID: <08B11AF7-C98B-4DA8-BDF8-6ABC6593292A@fbx.com> Hi MUG people: Two questions I can't answer myself: 1. Recently I noticed I could no longer open files on my desktop by double clicking the mouse or the trackpad. This also occurs in some programs. For instance in IPhoto, I can't click on a photo and enlarge it or open it for editing. I CAN open files from File on the menu bar or use Apple/O after clicking on an icon. So that is mostly what I do now. Naturally this is a real pain... 2. I've also noticed that in Microsoft Word or other text programs, I can no longer highlight a word or sentence or paragraph by double clicking the mouse or track pad. I have to drag across the word to highlight it. Is there a way I can fix this, considering I'm somewhat illiterate (which is why I like to come to MUG meetings!)???? Thanks for any help you can provide! Deb Anders-Bond 230-4397 bdeanders@fbx.com danders@iastate.edu -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Try varying your double click speed. On Jan 26, 2009, at 1:06 PM, Bob & Deb Anders wrote: > Hi MUG people: > > Two questions I can't answer myself: > > 1. Adjust "Double-Click Speed" to the low end of the slider and try double-clicking to open and/or select. If it works, adjust the slider upward to a point where you aren't accidentally double-clicking when you're trying to do two single-clicks. Do the same in the Keyboard and Mouse panel on the Mouse tab for your mouse.
