The battery no longer holds a charge for more than about 30 min. Is this covered under the extended warranty at all or could this possibly be one of the recalled batteries? Or do I need to buy a new battery on my own and if so where is the best place (price wise) to do so? I have the task of updating hundreds of PICT graphics (ca. 1998) and placing them into PPT files. A number of other repetitive file handling steps are probably involved, but I?d very much like a knowledgeable person to suggest what?s practical here! In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <89FA74A4-1655-4EBC-A6AF-D728AA1171F3@iastate.edu> Hello, Assuming you're operating on a machine with current software (running OS X 10.5 and using Office 2008), I've made a little Automator script that should do what you're asking for. Attached is a ZIP containing the required script. To use the script, do the following: 1) On your Desktop, create a folder called, "Originals" without the quotes. 2) Move all of the individual PICT files you want converted and put into a Powerpoint into this folder. 3) Open Powerpoint 2008. 4) Run the included "ImageScript.app" This script should create a folder called "Converted" on your Desktop, into which it will place JPEG copies of all the original PICT files. The script should also create a Powerpoint presentation with a slide for each picture. Included in the attached ZIP is also the original Automator workflow file if you want to change the format converted to. Disclaimer: This script has been provided as a courtesy. I tested the included script on my own machine and it worked fine. If it damages your system, I absolve myself of any liability. It's a somewhat unpleasant disclaimer, but it's necessary to state whenever you distribute a script that alters someone else's computer. The script is relatively simple, so you shouldn't have any problems. Thanks for asking the AmesMUG list, and let me know how it goes. ---------------------------------------- Jonathan Salvador jonny@iastate.edu On Apr 7, 2009, at 9:36 AM, Wiedenhoeft, Glenn R [AGRON] wrote: > Hello Group, > Do you enjoy Applescript?
